UNELCO presented dividend to VNPF

On Thursday 31 May 2018 UNELCO presented a dividend cheque of 29 807 500 Vatu to the VNPF Vice Chairman Mr. Henrickson Malsokle at the UNELCO building in Port Vila. Before the presentation the General Manager of UNELCO expressed his contentment regarding the partnership which has existed between the two institutions since their establishment. UNELCO has always been a faithful stakeholder of VNPF which has always committed itself to return its profits to its shareholders.

Mr. Malsokle conveyed his sincere thankyou on behalf of the VNPF General Manager and stated that the dividend will be part of the annual interest that will be declared to members’ savings at the end of the financial year 2018.

Computer Information System Audit (CISA) Training

The Fund has committed itself into the prospects of tightening controls in areas related to IT Systems Auditing. Two employees of the Fund together with participants from other neighbouring Pacific Island countries attended a four (4) days intensive Computer Information System Audit (CISA) training held in Holiday Inn Suva, Fiji from 21st May, 2018 to 24th May, 2018. This CISA preparatory course is designed for professionals who are expected to become an Information System Auditor. The course content and standards acquired during this training will help the Fund to strengthen areas of IT Audits within the Fund and controls, for the benefits of all VNPF Members and Stakeholders.

In addition to the CISA Training, the two employees had the opportunity to also meet with their counterpart IT Department of Fiji National Provident (FNPF), as well as visit several businesses to enable them to see how they operate particularly the in the setup of their ICT Infrastructure and their Disaster Recovery Sites. The experience abroad will help the VNPF ICT Department meet its long term vision which is aligned to the VNPF Strategic Plan.

VNPF meeting with Santo Land Transport

On Friday 25th May 2018 a meeting was conducted in the conference room of VNPF Luganville Branch, Santo. The Transport Association and the Customs Department were also in attendance. The purpose of the meeting was to inform the public transport owners and drivers on their duties and responsibilities as employers of drivers, and to remind them to pay their employees’ contributions to VNPF.

There were 40 participants in the meeting. During the presentation, the drivers and owners of public transport realized the importance and benefits of saving with VNPF and they all agreed to register with the Fund. The VNPF Santo office has given them one week after the presentation to come forward and register.

Senior Officer-in-Charge of Luganville Branch, Mr. Joel Tovor also conducted a meeting with 11 staff members of Santo hospital two days earlier, where he explained the purpose of VNPF as well as respond to questions.
